Community Award for Well Doncaster

In January of 2024, Askern Town Council in the North of Doncaster, held an award ceremony recognising members of the community and partners who have made a valuable contribution to the community in 2023.

To Well Doncaster Team member Andy Cunningham's surprise, a member of the community had nominated him for the Outstanding Achievement and Contribution to the Wellbeing and Development of Askern Residents award at the Askern Town Council community awards evening. The award recognises Andy's work in supporting the Askern Positive Action Group, which is made up of residents and partners working together to build on the strengths of Askern for all who live there.

Councillor Jake Keeble from Askern Town Council attends the monthly positive action group meetings in Askern and we really appreciate his support in making Askern a happy and thriving community and presented Andy with the certificate.

Of the award Andy said

"Well Doncaster has been working very hard over the last 12 months in Askern and has been working with some amazing groups that are working tirelessly to create a thriving community. Last summers family event on Askern Spa School was organised and ran by Shakers with the support of Well Doncaster, with the idea of the day coming from the Positive Action Group."
