I joined the Well Doncaster team in April 2022. During this time I have developed a broad understanding of the principles of health coaching and behaviour change. In addition to this, I have developed a practical tool set that I am able to apply during sessions with residents, including a broad knowledge of community based support which I encourage residents to access. Skills such as active listening and effective communication are crucial elements to my role. I possess the ability to structure conversation with compassion, integrity and purpose, in which to empower people by facilitating small changes to their lifestyles. These changes support them to achieve their wellness goals. I have always had a keen interest in food and nutrition, consequently I have gained qualifications in hospitality and in nutrition and public health, and more recently health coaching. AfN ANutr. Before joining the Well Doncaster team, I worked for a number of years in a SEN department in a secondary school.
Fun fact: If I wasn’t a health coach, I would love to train to be Dog Handler in the British Army
What people appreciate about me: That I’m a good listener and level-headed
What is important to me: The simple things – surrounding myself in nature whenever and wherever I can
The thing I enjoy best about being a Health Coach: Seeing a person’s progression through their wellness journey – it’s really rewarding listening to someone speak so positively about something they thought they would never be able to achieve!
